Kristie Hicks//Actor//Writer//Makeup Artist//Radio Personality//Miss Kentucky 1995
Kristie Hicks posesses a beauty that is breathtaking. Her skin is flawless; her smile disarming; and her spirit is radiant. I am honored to call her my friend.
Both a former Miss Kentucky America and Miss Kentucky Teen USA; placing First Runner-Up to Miss Teen USA, Kristie has found success in every creative outlet she’s pursued: from theatre and radio (she has a Billboard Magazine Award for her work in morning radio!) to professional makeup artistry for television, film, print, wedding and pageant.
Kristie and I can talk about anything for a good loooong while, but this time we were chatting about our crushes, cheeses, and what she’s going to be wearing to get down to business
15 Ounce: Who is your celebrity style crush?
Kristie: Cate Blanchette always looks beautiful, but in terms of style icon, it’s Caroline Herrera. Her creations are classic, timeless, and elegant with a gorgeous fit. Any woman would feel amazing wearing a Carolina Herrera. It’s just effortless glamour.
Who would you currently most like to style you?
J. Mendel. I love everything he does. I remember walking into his boutique on Michigan Avenue (next to Chanel) when I lived in Chicago and wanting everything in the windows. Those garments could make any woman feel like the best version of herself.
What are you listening to lately? What’s on your iPod?
I prefer that Pandora chooses for me; lately I like the John Legend, Lady Gaga, Michael Buble and Madonna stations.
What’s the last thing you bought to wear that you love more than you thought you would?
A pair of AG jeans that I’ve worn them for years and they just keep getting better and better. Bootcut and I’m tall so the length is very important for me. Those AGs have been my most beloved for a very long time.
What’s the last thing you bought to wear that you regret?
Some gorgeous platform heels that I can only wear for a couple of hours at a time. Truly beautiful but also truly painful.
With your wine? Chocolate or cheese?
Mmmm…give me gruyere with pear slices, almonds, and a light, white summer wine.
If you learned the world were ending tonight, what would you decide to wear?
(slyly smiling that captivating grin) I’ll say La Perla, but really it would be my birthday suit for most of the night.
